Comfort food just got healthy! Squash spirals are a great low calorie, whole food alternative to pasta. Subtly sweet, it may even taste better than ordinary noodles. These spirals are loaded with Vitamin A and beta carotene, which are great for your eyes, keeps your skin clear and your immune system strong. They’re also a good source of potassium and fibre, often lacking in most diets. It’s already washed, peeled and spiralized, which means you spend less time running circles around your kitchen and more time doing things you enjoy!         

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

[QUICK AND EASY METHOD]

HEAT SKILLET OVER MEDIUM HIGH HEAT. ADD 2 TEASPOONS OF OIL OR COAT WELL WITH COOKING SPRAY AND SAUTE SPIRALS WITH A PINCH OF SALT FOR 4-5 MINUTES OR UNTIL DESIRED LEVEL OF TENDERNESS.  

 

TIPS AND TRICKS

1]  When sauteing, use olive oil instead of regular vegetable oil for some added omega 3’s.

2]  Use cooking spray to coat skillet instead of oil to further decrease calories and prevent sticking to skillet.  

3]  Trying to lose weight without feeling hungry? Squash spirals are low in calories and a good source of fibre, so it will fill you up       without the calories. Cut your portion of rice/pasta and add squash spirals for a filling meal without the calories. 

4]  The slightly sweet and nutty flavour of squash spirals}make them extremely versatile and can be paired with most proteins.
